A Holistic Approach to Health & Well-Being

Holistic psychotherapy is an integrative approach to therapy that considers the whole person - mind, body, spirit, and emotions - in the healing process. It is a comprehensive approach with the goal of creating a balanced and harmonious state of being by addressing underlying issues, enhancing self-awareness, and promoting self-care and resilience.

Therapy naturally occurs between two people in conversation. This collaborative and trusting relationship between a therapist and a client is referred to as the "therapeutic relationship" and it has been proven to be one of the most important factors for therapeutic success.  It is no wonder then that Penelope prizes this unique connection which is built on mutual respect, empathy, and understanding. She provides a safe and supportive environment for her clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Penelope empowers her clients to achieve greater overall health and a deeper sense of inner peace. Penelope believes that once you have integrated positive changes in this safe therapeutic space, challenges can become turning points for a more satisfying and fulfilling life.

Penelope teaches new ways of applying simple and effective processes, tools and techniques, to help clients move towards living a richer and more meaningful life.  She has completed extensive clinical training and personal development, and draws on a number of different treatment modalities, such as, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapies (MCBTs), Positive Psychology, Neuro-psychotherapy, Mindfulness, Meditation and Relaxation practices, Gestalt and Art Therapy, and Brief Strategic Therapy. She always remains client centred, drawing on her experience and incorporating strategies from different modalities as needed.

An Experienced Clinical Psychologist

Penelope has extensive therapeutic experience having helped people both in private practice as well as at organisations. She always strives to bring her experience and talents to facilitate the best outcome possible for her clients.

Penelope values self-awareness and compassionate insight, growth, being at peace with what can not be changed such as experiences from the past, whilst choosing a conscious and values driven future that aligns with one’s chosen best self. She teaches skills such as Meditation and applying Mindfulness principles therapeutically. She guides her clients to develop non-judgemental self-awareness, recognising patterns of thinking and behaviour as they arise, and distinguish patterns that are not helpful or aligned with one’s values. This frees a person from repeating the thoughts that keep one stuck in past traumas, current anxieties, self-destructive patterns.

Penelope also assists clients with relationship and life challenges, grief, death and dying, trauma, stress, anxiety, depression and other psychological challenges.
